The course covers how viruses and cellular pathogens evade the immune system, and how that knowledge is used to design vaccines, adjuvants and engineered antibodies. It also covers immune deficiencies, how cancer escapes immune surveillance, and immunotherapies such as CAR T cells. This is central knowledge for immunopharmacology and cancer immunotherapy, and it completes my Fundamentals of Immunology specialization.
